About the Role

Construa is seeking a driven and hands-on Regional Manager to lead and oversee multiple stores across Mozambique. This role is critical in ensuring strong operational control, profitability, and customer excellence in a fast-paced, multi-site retail environment.

You will play a key role in delivering our vision to be the preferred supplier of building materials in local communities across Mozambique.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Performance & Growth

  • Drive sales and profitability across all stores in your region
  • Manage budgets, control costs, and address financial variances
  • Reduce stock losses, shrinkage, and ageing inventory
  • Monitor competitor activity and pricing within local markets

Leadership & Team Development

  • Lead, coach, and develop store managers and teams
  • Ensure clear accountability and performance management
  • Conduct regular store visits across your region
  • Enforce company policies and operational discipline

Stock & Cash Control

  • Maintain high standards of inventory accuracy and control
  • Oversee stock replenishment and product availability
  • Ensure daily cash controls, banking, and reconciliations
  • Support audits and enforce compliance procedures

Compliance & Standards

  • Ensure adherence to Mozambican regulations, including HSE requirements
  • Maintain high standards of store presentation and customer service
  • Conduct regular store audits and performance reviews

Risk & Security Management

  • Implement controls to prevent theft, fraud, and stock losses
  • Ensure strong store security practices across all locations
  • Work with local security structures where required

Requirements

  • Relevant qualification in Business, Finance, or related field
  • Proven experience in multi-site retail or regional management
  • Strong financial and operational management skills
  • Experience in hardware / building materials environment (advantageous)
  • ERP experience (Kerridge K8 or similar preferred)
