About the Role
Construa is seeking a driven and hands-on Regional Manager to lead and oversee multiple stores across Mozambique. This role is critical in ensuring strong operational control, profitability, and customer excellence in a fast-paced, multi-site retail environment.
You will play a key role in delivering our vision to be the preferred supplier of building materials in local communities across Mozambique.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Performance & Growth
- Drive sales and profitability across all stores in your region
- Manage budgets, control costs, and address financial variances
- Reduce stock losses, shrinkage, and ageing inventory
- Monitor competitor activity and pricing within local markets
Leadership & Team Development
- Lead, coach, and develop store managers and teams
- Ensure clear accountability and performance management
- Conduct regular store visits across your region
- Enforce company policies and operational discipline
Stock & Cash Control
- Maintain high standards of inventory accuracy and control
- Oversee stock replenishment and product availability
- Ensure daily cash controls, banking, and reconciliations
- Support audits and enforce compliance procedures
Compliance & Standards
- Ensure adherence to Mozambican regulations, including HSE requirements
- Maintain high standards of store presentation and customer service
- Conduct regular store audits and performance reviews
Risk & Security Management
- Implement controls to prevent theft, fraud, and stock losses
- Ensure strong store security practices across all locations
- Work with local security structures where required
Requirements
- Relevant qualification in Business, Finance, or related field
- Proven experience in multi-site retail or regional management
- Strong financial and operational management skills
- Experience in hardware / building materials environment (advantageous)
- ERP experience (Kerridge K8 or similar preferred)
