Job Title:

Food, Hygiene, Health and Nutrition Specialist

Location:

Based (Residence) in Beira (Sofala) with regular missions to Catandica (Manica) and Moatize (Tete)

 

Requirements:

i.          Diploma Degree in Food, health and nutritional safety and security or equivalent area of study,

ii.          Relevant Work Experience in food, health, nutrition and sanitation activities and other related rural development activities in general,

iii.          Relevant know-how in designing and implementing food and nutrition programs with strong gender and other vulnerable groups focus, in the particular context of Zambezi Valley

iv.          Capacity to fluently communicate in local language is an advantage,

v.          Actual and relevant experience and understanding of extension tools and participatory approaches is fundamental for the position,

vi.          Preference will be given to Women,

vii.          Availability to star work in March 1, 2022

Key Tasks:

i.          Evaluate continuously the food and nutritional situation in the project area to define the approaches to be adopted for nutritional improvement based on locally available resources.

ii.          Design and implementation of food and nutritional approaches to improve the status in target areas and groups.

iii.          Define, promote and coordinate implementation of strategies and approaches towards general improvement of living conditions in target communities in areas such as hygiene, health and environmental good practices.

iv.          Establish working platform with local authorities in this sector.

v.          Promote adoption of food intake standards that can contribute to improve the nutritional standards in target communities.

vi.          Providing training and coaching to the local team of Food and Nutrition Promoters

vii.          Design and lead implementation of the food and nutrition program.

viii.          Planning and Reporting, including writing of technical reports and presentation to the relevant entities.

ix.          Provide advice on approaches and contribute in other topics of the project that can produce impact in the food and nutrition program.
