Food and Nutrition Promoter

 

Requirements:

I Diploma Degree or Medium level vocational training in Food, health and nutritional safety and security,

ii. Relevant Work Experience in food, health, nutrition and sanitation activities and other related rural development activities in general,

iii Knowledge of the particular context of the district (Barue),

IV. Capacity to fluently communicate in local language,

v. Actual and relevant experience and understanding of extension tools and participatory approaches is fundamental for the position,

vi.Preference will be given to Women,

vii. Availability to star work on March 14, 2022.

viii. Valid Driving License for 125cc Motorbike is a precondition to apply.

 

Key Tasks:

i. Providing health advice and promoting healthy eating habits,

ii. Food preparation demonstrations

iii. Advising about special diets and food preparation,

iv. Educating SHF and the public about nutrition, working as part of a multidisciplinary team

v. Provide on-the-job and hands-on training to the Rural Families, with particular focus in the target Small Commercial Farmers and Organized groups of Smallholder Farmers in best practices for handling and conservation of food crops in a nutritional perspective,

vi. Ensure interaction with other local initiatives in the context of food and nutrition, bringing the best approaches to the community

vii. Collaborate with local authorities in all issues related to food safety, nutrition, health, hygiene and related areas of intervention.
