The opportunity:

  • Lead program design, planning and implementation to ensure overall interventions are of high-quality gender transformative and inclusive of children and youth with disabilities
  • Coordinate development of Project Gender & Advocacy Strategy in close collaboration with relevant Country Office and Canada National Office technical specialists, based on Plan International’s Global Gender & Advocacy Strategy
  • Provide a Gender perspective and technical inputs into the implementation of project activities, development of advocacy strategies, delivery of capacity building activities, development and review of advocacy tools, conducting social mobilization activities and development of relevant communication materials
  • Provide gender analysis and technical support and the expertise required to implement the programme and to obtain the expected results
  • In consultation with the partners, prepare annual work plans, budgets and progress reports to ensure the achievement of results;
  • Provide gender and inclusion related technical support to staff and partners for programme implementation, including identification and fulfilment of capacity building requirements.
  • Take lead and champion all advocacy initiatives at district and provincial level, including GBV campaigns (16 days of activism against gender-based violence, International girls and women days, etc.)
  • Train members of women and youth-led, people with disabilities, LGTBIQ+ organisations on evidence-based advocacy for GE&I, ASRHR, MH and prevention of harmful traditional practices
  • Develop a position paper on the main barriers to accessing SRHR, GBV and CEFM prevention based on the key advocacy agenda of the women and youth-led, people with disabilities, LGTBIQ+ organisations
  • Establish and strengthen platforms at provincial, national and regional levels with YLOs, OPD, LGBTQIA+ & IDP-led organisations.
  • Work in partnership with SRHR Specialist and project MERL staff to ensure that all gender transformative interventions plans are complete with outcome level monitoring and evaluation plans; and share learnings for project improvement

 

About you:

  • Degree in relevant field – Health, Communication, Advocacy, Social Sciences and/or another related field;
  • Ability to build the capacity of staff and partners to deliver Gender & Advocacy activities
  • Good command of Portuguese and Nampula local languages
  • Advanced knowledge of the rationale and practical implications of being rights-based, gender transformative, participatory, working in partnership; evidence-based and working to strengthen civil society
  • Demonstrated understanding of gender equality and equity, gender integration, engaging key influencers as agents of change, and women’s empowerment
  • Comprehensive knowledge in advocating for women’s policies and initiatives in advancing gender equality and women’s empowerment
  • Demonstrated knowledge of gender transformative integration in the key programmatic areas such as health, Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights, disability and inclusion and social protection. As an asset to show experience and knowledge on integrating gender equality into markets, value chains, financial systems,
  • Demonstrated capacity to design training packages and train staff on the delivery of gender-specific topics with particular emphasis on addressing sensitive issues, such as gender-based violence, child marriage, SRHR, among others;

  • Pay range: 1.154.154,49 MzN to 1.340.308,44 MzN  annual gross) Plan reserves the right to pay according to internal procedures
