Provides specialist advice and executes tasks associated with ensuring a robust change control and document management process exists and is followed in the operation, to enable the accurate maintenance of the operation’s blueprint, reflecting any approved modifications of its plant, equipment and infrastructure.
ACCOUNTABILITIES
Leadership

- Be aware of risks associated with engineering governance and asset management and manage accordingly;
- Ensure that material risks are identified, and related critical controls are implemented and are effective;
- Create an inclusive and diverse environment and provide the platform so that every team member feels valued and aligns with company values;
- Build and maintain working relationships with key stakeholders, i.e., Operations Managers, Operations Superintendents, Supervisors, Engineers and Maintainers.
Governance and Technical Stewardship
- Governs compliance to the defined Engineering processes and other relevant Business/Asset defined processes, standards, statutory legislation, company Standards and Industry or Government Standards;
- Govern and control all technical documentation for the operation;
- Review management of changes for changes done in the plant;
- Maintain systems that ensure accurate as-built blueprint and the management of change;
- Maintain and issue current and accurate engineering standards, specifications, procedures and drawings for the specific area in line with associated document management standards;
- Issue and accept technical documentation for the Operation to the projects as per a defined scope;
- Provide technical expertise on the blueprint, including validate blueprints resulting from the projects;
- Ensure that records related to the changes are monitored, reviewed and up to date;
- Provide engineering standards and specifications for all engineering projects;
- Perform asset condition assessments and defect management;
- Perform self-assurance or gap assessment to identify improvement opportunities and follow up to ensure that the gaps identified are addressed;
- Ensure all relevant change control documentation are updated to “as-built” status.Page 3 of 3
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Qualification/s Required
- Relevant Degree in Mechanical/Electrical/Structural Engineering.
Technical/Specialist Skills
Required
- Understanding of Asset Management Principles aligned to ISO55000 Series Standard;
- Proficient in MS Office applications (Excel, Words and Powerpoint) is a must and knowledge in using CAD software is advantageous;
- Advanced knowledge of change management methodologies;
- Knowledge of industry codes and standards such as SANS, ASME, API, ANSI, and ISO;
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team;
- Fluent in Portuguese and English.
Experience
- Minimum of 5 to 10 years of experience preferably in theb Aluminum smelting or heavy industrial sector.
