FUNCTION:
Assume responsibility for leading the implementation of the Community Relations) Plan in the designated geography; create quarterly, monthly, and weekly Community Relations Plans aligned with the annual CR Plan, detailing goals, key activities, and timelines for engagement activities; manage and oversee the implementation of ongoing community relations programs and activities within the geography; ensure that project disclosure materials are distributed to affected communities and stakeholders, including district-level government, opinion leaders, and organizations, to facilitate stakeholder understanding and capacity to interpret project information; identify ways to promote and leverage TEPMA1’s image within IDAC communities; train and coach Coordinators and Community Liaison Officers (CLOs) to support the achievement of CR objectives; analyze and assess the effectiveness of engagement activities, identify areas for improvement, and formulate alternative strategies more applicable to the engagement context and current community perceptions; incorporate these into a proactively developed monthly activity plan; monitor the activities of CR in terms of timeframe and effectiveness and highlight any critical issues that may compromise project activities; compile daily, weekly, and monthly reports and others as needed; advise on the team performance review and propose training and promotion opportunities; conduct stakeholder mapping and analysis to identify key stakeholders and their interests, influence, and potential impact on the project; develop and implement conflict resolution strategies to address and mitigate any disputes or issues that arise within the community; integrate sustainability initiatives into community relations activities to promote long-term positive impacts on the community; execute other tasks assigned by Manager.
Requisitos
- Bachelor’s degree in Development, Sociology, Communications, Public Relations, Anthropology, or a relevant field;
- At least 5 years of experience in a similar role within community relations, especially in remote or rural areas;
- Training in Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) practices, including safety culture and golden rules;
- Experience in working with local communities in the extractive industry is highly valued;
- Experience in managing relationships and negotiations with local communities and stakeholders;
- Proficiency in managing schedules, budgets, and monitoring the progress of community relations activities;
- Strong understanding of sustainable livelihoods frameworks and the ability to report on project outcomes effectively;
- Fluency in Portuguese and English (both written and spoken;
- Ability to train and supervise community liaison teams;
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for working with various stakeholders, including local communities and authorities;
- Ability to analyze community needs and issues, and provide appropriate solutions;
- Mozambican nationality.
