Role purpose:
The SME Account Manager role is to drive the growth and retention of Small and Medium Enterprise (SME) customers through exceptional account management and customer experience.
This position focuses on attracting new clients and nurturing existing relationships while ensuring alignment with the company’s sales strategy. The SME Account Manager is responsible for achieving defined sales and revenue targets each month by leveraging a deep understanding of customer needs to deliver propositions and solutions that enhance satisfaction and loyalty. Through strategic relationship management and proactive engagement, this role aims to increase revenue and expand market share within the SME sector.
Key Accountabilities:
- Drive business growth and revenue through cross-selling and upselling VB products;
- Acquire new SME customers and win back lost accounts;
- Establish and manage customer relationships effectively;
- Achieve and surpass monthly and annual sales targets;
- Minimize downgrades and churn to protect revenue;
- Ensure high account management standards for all business accounts;
- Identify customer opportunities and assess competition in the area;
- Clearly communicate the benefits of Vodacom products in customer presentations;
- Match products and services to diverse customer profiles and needs;
- Monitor account performance and develop plans to grow each account.
What we are looking in you:
- University degree in Business Manager, Marketing, or related areas(post graduate will be advantageous);
- Proven experience gained within a business sales channel (must have minimum 2 years B2B sales experience);
- Work experience in Telecommunications / IT Industry will be an advantage;
- Strong planning, reporting and organizational skills;
- Strong ability to formulate and implement account strategies and plans;
- Understanding of technical/IT business solutions;
- Enthusiastic and passionate in negotiations, with a strong customer orientation;
- Interest to learn about the latest business services and products;
- Collaborative/Team-player;
- Confidence to enter client sites and present Vodacom services;
- Proficient knowledge of English language;
- Driving license.
