Probe Mining Mozambique is looking for a Site Supervisor
The site supervisor will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating day to day operations on Site, Technical and safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure a consistently high standard of work is produced in accordance with specification and quality standards of Probe and Wabtec through regular quality inspections;
- Direct and supervise day to day operations of technical staff ensuring appliance of common operational procedures;
- Ensure material requisitions are issued in adequate time to achieve timeous turnaround times on repairs and installations;
- Fulfil the role of Works Co-Ordinator;
- Liaise with Branch Manager regarding cost control, variations, and confirmation of instructions;
- Carry out safety inspections and fulfilling the health, safety, and welfare responsibilities as detailed in the Company’s Policy and in compliance with OHSA 45001 management system;
- Maintain quality and environmental control procedures in accordance with ISO 9001 and ISO 14001;
- Create and maintain good relations with clients, Probe teams and other stakeholders;
- Fulfil the role of Mentor.
- Attend to Customer queries and requirements timeously and professionally;
- Supervise and support Technicians on site;
- Maintain a high standard of safety and housekeeping;
- Exercise Visible Field Leadership;
- Ensure all Vehicles are always mine compliant and roadworthy;
- Ensure all Technical staff are on time for duty;
- Assist with and ensure all new installations are delivered with superior quality and on time;
- Ensure all planned maintenance on CAS are done timeously and professionally;
- Coordinate and supervise breakdown teams;
- Ensure breakdown time are kept to a minimum;
- Monitor and investigate recurring breakdowns;
- Submit weekly progress reports;
- Lead daily toolbox talks / DSS;
- Oversee daily vehicle inspections are done;
- Attend weekly safety meetings with the Safety Officer;
- Participate in weekly safety walk abouts;
- Conduct Mandatory Weekly General Safety inspection;
- Conduct Mandatory Weekly Dialogs with the Team;
- Conduct Weekly Mandatory environmental inspections;
- Conduct weekly tool inspection and Tag with color of the month;
- Conduct Weekly PPE Inspections;
- Conduct planned task observations;
- Oversee the risk assessment completed by the teams daily;
- Attend monthly Contractors Safety Meeting;
- Monitor Technical Staff MIT (Medicals, Inductions and Training).
- Ensure that all job cards are in place and signed by the customer;
- Submit accurately completed timesheets on a daily basis;
- Manage overtime worked;
- Submit monthly overtime sheets to the HR;
- Monitor and manage annual leave of Technical staff;
- Submit a quarterly annual leave plan for Technical staff.
- Complete IDP for the year & ensure IDP creation and execution for employees;
- Ensure attendance of performance reviews each quarter and submission of relevant evidence;
- Ensure attendance of Safety & HR Induction.
- Adhere to Policies and Procedures as well as confidentiality agreements.
Qualification and Experience
- Grade 12 or Matric + Qualified Auto Electrical Technician + Electronic Engineering or Mechatronic Engineering
- 3 – 5 years previous working experience in the same or similar role
