Operations (Ops) is responsible for excellence in operational and financial performance of iDE Mozambique’s portfolio of projects, in partnership with Senior Management. The Operations Officer supports project management under the direction of the supervisor. This person also engages with HQ Operations as needed.

Duties and Responsibilities
They will support the work of the iDE Mozambique Operations team in the following ways:
1. General communications:
- Review emails, prioritise tasks, and coordinate solutions with Operations and Compliance Director and/or Deputy Country Director
- Engage with relevant project point person(s) to update priorities and ensure that all project management tasks are progressing on schedule
- Participate in calls with field operations staff, Senior Management, and/or HQ operations staff
2. Program reporting and project management.
- Oversee management of established collaborative systems for reporting on awards to support timely and compliant deliverables submission
- Review program reporting for quality control and compliance with donor requirements
3. Responsible for production of goods and services
- Provide project start up and project close down support and ensure that all appropriate documentation is managed and on file
- Review subcontracts, sub agreements, and/or consultancy agreements for risk and provide feedback to supervisor and Senior Management as appropriate
- Track upcoming deliverable deadlines and share with country program to meet contractual deadlines and compliance as related to project implementation for USAID BHA portfolio
- Ensure that implementation of work-plans for designated programs are in accordance with donor obligations
- Research donor policies to address contract questions and manage risk
- Draft project management tools/templates and organisational process/guidance documents.
4. Support routine management systems for various awards, coordinating directly with the field and HQ
Operations as necessary;
5. Oversee management of established collaborative systems for reporting on awards to support timely
and compliant deliverables submission.
6. Support internal and external communications primarily regarding BHA programs, as requested by
supervisor;
7. Build and maintain effective relationships through appropriate channels, participating in regular
meetings, webinars, etc.
8. Perform other duties as required.
Essential Qualifications & Experience
- At least five to three years of professional experience in operational support, reporting or programming including field experience is required;
- Substantial experience working with USAID-supported programs and knowledge of USAID procurement procedures will be considered an advantage;
- Excellent organisation skills with the ability to prioritise multiple responsibilities and meet deadlines;
- Highly proactive, self motivated and organised, with strong planning skills;
- Innovative, concise, accurate, and detail oriented;
- Ability to work in a team and to switch rapidly between different projects in a fast-paced environment;
- Ability to act independently to identify and analyse problems and recommend cost-effective solutions;
- Fluency in English and Portuguese (oral and written) required.
