Geotechnician / Grade Controller

Minas Moatize Limitada is currently seeking a skilled Geotechnician / Grade Controller to join their mining company based in Moatize, Tete. As a Geotechnician / Grade Controller, you will be overseeing daily selective mining operations for grade control, and ensuring high-quality standards are maintained. Also persist with effective grade control practices, including coal quality classification and stockpile layout based on coal quality. Monitor coal blending processes to ensure consistency and meet quality specifications.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

1. Safety and Risk Management:

• Prioritize safety above all else.
• Identify and mitigate operational risks related to equipment, personnel and processes.

2. Operational Leadership and Production Optimization:

• Oversee day-to-day selective mining activities for grade control.
• Ensure compliance with safety protocols, environmental regulations and company policies.
• Collaborate with other departments (engineering, maintenance) to achieve production targets.
• Coordinate with shift supervisors and operators to maintain efficient production schedules.

3. Personnel Management:

• Foster a positive work culture that emphasizes teamwork and accountability.

4. Environmental Stewardship:

• Minimize the mine’s impact on the surrounding ecosystem.
• Comply with environmental permits and regulations.

Education or Certification:

• Bachelor’s degree/diploma in Geology or a related field (relevant experience may substitute

• Proven experience (5+ years) in geology or related fields

Languages:

• Portuguese and English written and spoken fluently
