Construction Equipment Operators (5 Positions)

Karingani Game Reserve (KGR), one of the largest private wildlife reserves in Mozambique (150,000 ha), is seeking to hire five (5) Professional Construction Equipment Operators to join the Construction Team.
The operators will be responsible for operating the machinery (Yellow Machines), supporting the Reserve’s infrastructure projects.

1. AVAILABLE POSITIONS

1.1 Articulated Dump Truck Operator (1 Position)

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate the Articulated Dump Truck safely and efficiently.
• Transport materials (soil, sand, gravel, rubble) according to Supervisor instructions.
• Conduct daily pre-operational inspections of the equipment.
• Report mechanical faults or maintenance needs.
• Strictly comply with Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) regulations applicable to heavy equipment operation.
• Apply environmental construction standards in Mozambique.

1.2 Grader G90 Operator (1 Position)

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate the Grader G90 for leveling and finishing internal roads and platforms.
• Perform earthworks with technical precision.
• Conduct daily equipment inspections.
• Ensure proper slope and drainage standards.
• Report performance and any anomalies, proposing solutions.
• Strictly comply with Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) regulations applicable to heavy equipment operation.
• Apply environmental construction standards in Mozambique.

1.3 Roller Operator (1 Position)

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate the Roller for soil and base layer compaction.
• Ensure adequate compaction levels according to technical specifications.
• Conduct daily inspections and basic preventive maintenance.
• Work in coordination with the Grader and Excavator operators.
• Maintain daily work records.
• Strictly comply with Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) regulations applicable to heavy equipment operation.
• Apply environmental construction standards in Mozambique.

1.4 Hydraulic Excavator Operator (1 Position)

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate the hydraulic excavator for excavations, trenching, loading, and earthmoving.
• Ensure excavation accuracy according to technical project specifications.
• Conduct daily pre-operational inspections.
• Work in close coordination with the Dump Truck operator.
• Report technical faults immediately and propose corrective solutions.
• Strictly comply with Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) regulations applicable to heavy equipment operation.
• Apply environmental construction standards in Mozambique.

1.5 Wheel Loader Operator (1 Position)

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate the Wheel Loader for material loading and logistical support on work sites.
• Efficiently move aggregates and soil.
• Conduct daily equipment inspections.
• Support excavation and transport operations.
• Maintain equipment usage records.
• Strictly comply with Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) regulations applicable to heavy equipment operation.
• Apply environmental construction standards in Mozambique.

2. General Requirements (Applicable to All Positions)

• Mozambican nationality.
• Minimum education level: 12th grade or equivalent.
• Valid Professional Certificate as Heavy Equipment Operator (mandatory).
• Minimum of 3 to 5 years of proven experience on the specific equipment applied for.
• Valid Driver’s License (preferably professional/heavy vehicle category).
• Good conduct, discipline, sober habits, and a strong sense of responsibility.
• Ability to work in remote areas.
• Basic knowledge of English; knowledge of Changana is an advantage.
• Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) standards applicable to heavy equipment operation and construction activities.
• Knowledge of environmental standards applicable to construction in Mozambique, including prevention of soil and water pollution, protection of fauna and flora, and management of construction waste.
