ABOUT THE ROLE:
This role is a permanent full-time position.
As an Environmental Specialist, you will oversee the Environment work at the Mozal Operation to effectively manage the execution of activities that the Environment function is accountable for, across the operation including Environment projects.
Other key responsibilities include, but aren’t limited to:
- Maintain existing approvals and/or licences, including managing amendments and/ or obtaining new licences to sustain production, provide technical support to the operation, to ensure line leaders are able to meet environment regulatory commitments using the compliance systems and processes; Plan and execute work to meet environmental regulatory commitments and internal requirements;
- Provide support and technical advice/coaching for management on site environment matters (including significant event investigations), regulatory requirements and compliance issues, engaging with the global discipline team when the event is an Actual Level 3+ or Potential Level 4+;
- Develop and maintain Operation specific environmental documentation (management plans, procedures, SWI’s etc) in line with regulatory requirements, Environment Standard and Operation’s risk profile, design and execution of the Operation’s environmental monitoring programs, ensuring the programs are fit for purpose (e.g. sized right, leveraging technology etc), aligned with regulatory requirements and the risk profile of the operation;
- Maintain process for the collection and verification of environmental data relevant to the Operation, and undertake data analysis on a regular basis to identify emerging compliance and/or environmental issues.
ABOUT YOU:
- Over 5 years’ experience in an Environmental Specialist role in an Industrial or mining setting;
- Fluent in Portuguese and English.
Qualifications for this role are:
- Bachelor Degree or equivalent in Environment/Science / Engineering / or Similar.
