Duties:
- Collect appropriate and accurate information required to assess potential business and decide on the acceptable risk/business;
- Review business applications based on previous loss records, age, credit ratings and other internal parameters prescribed in the underwriting manual;
- Prepare reports that details assessments, findings that contribute to the final decision making;
- Provision of technical assistance to insurers on business quotations, determine premiums and coverage, negotiate terms and conditions with brokers and insurers
- Handle queries from credit control, brokers and insurers
Requisites:
- A Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience in any relevant discipline (Business, Natural and applied sciences and Law) or equivalent experience
- Five years’ experience
- Certified in COP or equivalent
- Proficiency in English and Portuguese (oral and written)
- Analytical thinker with research proficiencies
- Ability to use reasonable and sound judgement
- Strong problem solving and decision making skills
- Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines
- Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills
- In-depth knowledge of underwriting regulations
- Ability to build positive relationships and partnerships with insurers, brokers and key role-players.
