Facultative Underwriter (m/f)

Duties:

• Collect appropriate and accurate information required to assess potential business and decide on the acceptable risk/business;
• Review business applications based on previous loss records, age, credit ratings and other internal parameters prescribed in the underwriting manual;
• Prepare reports that details assessments, findings that contribute to the final decision making;
• Provision of technical assistance to insurers on business quotations, determine premiums and coverage, negotiate terms and conditions with brokers and insurers
• Handle queries from credit control, brokers and insurers

Requisites:

• A Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience in any relevant discipline (Business, Natural and applied sciences and Law) or equivalent experience
• Five years’ experience
• Certified in COP or equivalent
• Proficiency in English and Portuguese (oral and written)
• Analytical thinker with research proficiencies
• Ability to use reasonable and sound judgement
• Strong problem solving and decision making skills
• Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines
• Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills
• In-depth knowledge of underwriting regulations
• Ability to build positive relationships and partnerships with insurers, brokers and key role-players.
