Job Description

  • Ensure broad based awareness and understanding of the oil and gas industry, TEPMA1 and MozLNG development plans and activities and environmental and social management;
  • Develop broad-based knowledge and awareness of CSO-extractive industry relationships, including the interests of key CSOs and key issues;
  • Establish and maintain functional positive relations with key national, provincial and district civil society and non-government organisations;
  • Develop and manage the implementation of the agreed CSO/NGO engagement schedule including management invitations, logistics, and reporting;
  • Document and report on CSO/NGO engagement on an on-going basis.

 

Context and environment

  • Develop awareness and understanding of CSOs/NGOs sentiments, concerns and areas of interest in relation to the Project and when applicable opportunities for coordination and collaboration for program delivery in our area of interest;
  • Challenge to keep abreast of key CSO/NGOs mood about the project, and required a constant engagement, listening to understand which take a raised the need to develop patience, tolerance, and tune diplomatic skills to positively deal even with the most difficult type of personalities among stakeholders.
  • Coordinate and collaborate across functions and colleagues (CSA, Land Access, M&E, SI) to ensure links between CSO and key technical areas as and when required;

 

Candidate profile

  • Relevant University degree preferably in Social Sciences, Media and Communications or Political Affairs or other relevant areas;
  • A minimum of 5-10 years of relevant working experience, with proven track record of stakeholder engagement, networking, demonstrable establishment and maintenance of relationships in multi-stakeholder environments, preferably involving CSO/NGOs;
  • Prior experience working in multi-stakeholder environment, government affairs and/or communications and media would be an advantage;
  • Poor work experience in extractive industries would be an advantage.
