As the Country Lead: Engineering at CCBA, you will lead and execute the country engineering strategy across utilities, packaging, and processing operations, ensuring reliability, efficiency, and alignment with CCBA’s business objectives. The role focuses on asset performance and reliability, capital investment delivery, operational excellence, and sustainable resource management. You will drive infrastructure development, cost optimization, and compliance with engineering, safety, and environmental standards, while building strong engineering capability and partnering closely with cross-functional stakeholders to support current and future operational needs.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Engineering Leadership & Strategy Execution : Lead and execute the country engineering strategy for utilities, packaging, and processing, ensuring efficiency, sustainability, and alignment with CCBA’s business objectives.
  • Asset Management & Reliability Improvement : Ensure optimal asset utilization by implementing predictive and preventative maintenance programs, reducing downtime, and enhancing overall equipment effectiveness.
  • Regulatory & QSE Compliance : Ensure country compliance with engineering-related quality, safety, and environmental standards, and adherence to industry and CCBA regulations.
  • Capital Investment & Infrastructure Expansion : Drive country capital investment projects and site master planning and ensure infrastructure meets current and future operational demands.
  • Operational Excellence & Cost Optimization : Implement best practices in lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, and process optimization to enhance efficiency and reduce operational costs.
  • Sustainability & Energy Efficiency : Develop and execute strategies to improve water, energy, and waste management in alignment with sustainability goals.
  • Capability Development : Build a technically competent team by driving training, mentorship, and skills development programs in engineering disciplines.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement : Partner with internal and external stakeholders to align engineering solutions with business objectives, ensuring smooth execution of projects.

Skills, Experience & Education

Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Electromechanical Engineering
  • Postgraduate qualifications in Engineering Management, Project Management, or Business Administration are an advantage
  • Government Certificate of Competency (GCC) (Factories) preferred
  • Project Management certification (PMP) or business-related postgraduate qualification is advantageous
Experience
  • 10-12 years of experience in an FMCG, manufacturing, or industrial environment with a focus on packaging, processing, and utilities engineering
  • Proven leadership experience managing engineering teams across multiple sites or markets
  • Expertise in leading capital projects, asset care programs, and production efficiency improvements
Skills
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001, FSSC 22000, ISO 14001, OHSA, and engineering risk management principles
  • Expertise in lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, and root cause analysis methodologies
  • Proficiency in energy efficiency, water conservation, and waste management strategies
  • Proven ability to lead and develop teams, ensuring knowledge transfer and technical capability building
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills to influence decision-making and drive cross-functional collaboration
  • Ability to manage engineering vendors, contractors, and regulatory bodies effectively
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a data-driven approach to engineering challenges.
  • Ability to make strategic decisions in high-pressure environments, ensuring operational stability and growth
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to engage senior leadership and cross-functional teams
  • Experience in driving cultural transformation and embedding engineering best practices across multiple markets
