Our client is seeking a Contract Engineer to work in Maputo for a permanent role.

 

Main responsibilities:

  • Effectively provide the processing of requests for materials and services to meet cost and quality requirements according to ERP procedures;
  • Propose and implement new work practices and procedures for purchasing and contracting activities, in order to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the process;
  • Write contract requirements in accordance with all applicable laws, and with the company’s purchasing policies and procedures;
  • Make critical analyzes, add revisions and contribute to the preparation of the proposal lists, contract strategies and proposal evaluation plan;
  • Prepare valuation models with and without price and main contracts;
  • Conduct contractual and commercial evaluations, necessary negotiations of the proposals received and formulate recommendations;
  • Demonstrate continuous efforts to improve operations, decrease response times, streamline work processes and work in cooperation with other departments and other Contracts & Procurement teams, to provide continuous high quality customer service;
  • Manage all phases of the contract in coordination with the contract holders and other functions involved, as appropriate;
  • Ensure data entry in the Global Procurement System for all ITTs / contracts / changes, according to management instructions, including local content and weekly update of your entire workload;
  • Manage all activities in full compliance with the company’s Code of Ethics.

 

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Higher education, preferably in Engineering or Economics;
  • Minimum experience of 3 years in ??Contracts & Procurement;
  • Experience in Oil and Gas projects is preferred;
  • Previous work on highly complex projects;
  • Qualification in CIPS is preferred.

 

Required Skills:

  • Proficiency in written and spoken English, mainly in contract terminology;
  • Knowledge of the international contractual format and corporate regulation;
  • Knowledge of commodity markets, price trends, quality and variety of materials, supplies and equipment;
  • Negotiation skills;
  • Ability to work in teams and frequent interaction with other areas;
  • Ability to work effectively with people from different cultures and backgrounds;
  • High level of integrity and ability to keep information confidential;
  • Ability to produce concise and accurate reports;
  • Good ability to work independently and under constant pressure and time constraints to meet deadlines;
  • Domain of Microsoft Office, with particular reference to Excel;
  • Demonstrate a personal commitment to Health, Safety and the Environment, respecting legal regulations, company policies and using the company’s safety management systems;
  • Ensure that the company’s Health, Safety and Environment policy is included in all contracts.
